Antenna Theory #09 | Infinite Line Source | Stationary Phase in Action

Antenna Theory

Instructor: Dr. Süleyman Burak ÇELİK

This lesson applies the stationary phase method to an infinite line source and derives the cylindrical wave result. We contrast the bounded source (where far-field geometry works) with the infinite source (where stationary phase becomes the natural tool). The stationary phase evaluation identifies the single point on the source that actually contributes, producing a cylindrical wave with the characteristic 1/sqrt(r) amplitude decay.
