Circuit Theory #08 | Nodal Analysis — 4-Step Method + Worked Example

Nodal Analysis Method

Instructor: Dr. Süleyman Burak ÇELİK

Eighth lesson in the Circuit Theory series. The four-step nodal analysis method, then a complete two-node example. Topics covered: • Step 1: choose a reference node (ground = 0 V) • Step 2: label every other node — V₁, V₂, … • Step 3: write KCL = 0 at each node, expressing branch currents as voltage differences over resistance • Step 4: the entering / leaving sign rule for current sources • Worked example: 8Ω, 16Ω, 12Ω resistors with 9 A and 3 A current sources → V₁ = 64 V, V₂ = 48 V • Verification at both nodes — KCL closes to zero Covers content from TR lectures d15 (method) + d16 (solved example).
