Circuit Theory #10 | Nodal Analysis Example 3 — Three Nodes, Finding i and P
Nodal Analysis MethodInstructor: Dr. Süleyman Burak ÇELİK
Tenth lesson in the Circuit Theory series. The most complex nodal analysis example so far — three unknown node voltages, five resistors, and one current source. Same four-step method, bigger algebra. The circuit: • V₁ connects to V₃ through a 6Ω resistor (red), and to V₂ through 12Ω • V₂ connects to V₃ through 4Ω, and to ground through 6Ω • V₃ connects to ground through 18Ω • 5A current source enters V₁ Solution: V₁ = 45 V, V₂ = 21 V, V₃ = 27 V Results: • Current i through the 4Ω resistor: i = (27−21)/4 = 1.5 A • Power in the red 6Ω resistor: P = 18²/6 = 54 W Covers content from TR lecture d18.
